The best seafood restaurant in Bangkok
Seafood Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu
Looking for the best seafood restaurant in Bangkok for a taste of real Bangkok street food with fresh seafood? Then look no further, for it doesn’t get much better than this as a street photo. Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu is a prominent street food and seafood vendor in Bangkok, located near the backpacker district of Walhalla Khao San Road. It’s one of just two true street food sellers on this top list, the other being Nhong Rim Klong, which is also unbelievably wonderful. The seafood you’ll try at Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu will be some of the best you’ve ever tasted, proving that street cuisine doesn’t have to mean low quality.
What about the cost? It is also the cheapest seafood restaurant in Bangkok on this list, with a maximum dish price of 200 THB. You can also refer to our article on Thailand food review.
The Stir-fried Prawns with Garlic made with giant crayfish and Spicy Thai Shrimp Salad produced with huge crayfish and seasoned with lemon juice, crushed chile, mint, lemongrass, fish sauce, scallions, and white onions are two of my favorite seafood dishes at Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu. Fried Clams with Chili and Basil (THB100) and their famous Tom Yum Goong (THB150), which is unquestionably one of Bangkok’s best seafood Tom Yums.
Lek Seafood
Another best seafood restaurant in Bangkok is Lek Seafood, which serves delectable Thai seafood meals. The restaurant is near the Chong Nonsi BTS station, in the heart of Bangkok’s commercial sector. The restaurant’s menu offers a good selection of seafood at reasonable prices.
Fried Peeled Crab with Garlic and Pepper is my favorite seafood meal in Lek. I always eat my seafood with garlic, and adding pepper and chile adds a nice kick that makes it even more delicious! This stir-fry is also available with big shrimp. Another delicacy to try is their Thai Shrimp Cake, which is entirely loaded with minced shrimp and is one of the best I’ve ever had!
Nhong Rim Klong seafood
The stinking canal next to this famous street – and seafood restaurant will detract from your pleasure just a little. One of the best seafood feasts in Bangkok can still be found here. Despite the fact that Nhong Rom Klong is a street food restaurant, the menu still includes seafood made with the freshest ingredients, particularly crab. The popularity of Nhong Rim Klong has surged in recent years, resulting in higher prices and longer waits. Expect to pay 340 to 440 THB for the menu highlights, so don’t expect a cheap street dinner here.
The signature Sauteed Crab with Cabbage and Fish Sauce (THB 340), a delightful mix of fried cabbage, scrambled eggs, fish sauce, and chunks of crab meat, and fried crab Hot Chili and Vegetables (440 THB), an extremely delicious stir-fry consisting of chili, garlic, eggplant, basil, and lots of crab meat, are two of my favorite seafood dishes at Nhong Rim Klong. Crab Curry (THB 440) and Thai Chili Fried Crab (THB 440) are also worth trying.
T&K Seafood
T&K Seafood, Chinatown’s most famous seafood restaurant, is well-known for its cuisine. This restaurant has been serving wonderful fish for many years. This best seafood restaurant in Bangkok opened at four o’clock in the afternoon, and the three-story structure was quickly filled. Fortunately, the service was prompt, and the food arrived in minutes. This is due to a huge crew of cooks preparing fresh fish at a rapid pace outside the restaurant.
Shrimp, crab, entire fish, squid, and oysters are all on the menu at T&K Seafood. I am confident that you will find anything to your liking. Yellow Curry Fried Crab (THB 500), Spicy Garlic Steamed White Snapper with Lemon Soup (THB 350), and Grilled Shrimp are the most popular dishes (THB 150). With that said, T&K Seafood is always packed, so arrive early or after 9 p.m. to avoid the throng.
Here Hai Seafood
Here Hai is a small restaurant in Ekkamai with the purpose of serving the best crab fried rice in Bangkok, and I can confidently say that they have accomplished that goal. They prepare enormous amounts of deliciously wacky, authentic Thai classics with a twist using daily fresh seafood of outstanding quality. In principle, their Stir-Fried Scallop with Holy Basil (300 THB) is “just a simple pad Kra Pao,” but with top-quality scallops, it’s far more polished. There’s a reason why the restaurant is always packed and hungry guests must wait in line for a table: Hai serves outstanding seafood.
Their famous Insane Crab Fried Rice (340 THB) is served with a spicy Nam Jim Seafood dipping sauce and is topped with totally peeled crab flesh. To finish the entire plate, you’ll need a large appetite. As if that weren’t enough, an XL-size is also available for 990 THB, which can easily be shared by 5 people. The Stir-Fried Mantis Shrimp with Garlic and Pepper (360 THB) is our final recommendation at this fantastic seafood restaurant, and it’s also our favorite dish (a difficult decision). The mantis shrimps are encrusted with sweetened garlicky and peppery pieces, and they’re cooked to perfection.
In this regard, Hai and Jay Fai can be contrasted, particularly in terms of philosophy. Both restaurants provide traditional Thai dishes with outstanding seafood ingredients that elevate these Thai classics to new heights. Because Jay Fai honed her recipe over a longer length of time, we placed Here Hai immediately under Jay Fai in this post about the top Thai seafood restaurants in Bangkok. If you like seafood, though, you should go to both establishments.
Jay Fai Seafood
This is the only Michelin-starred street food vendor in the world! And, fortunately for you, the best seafood restaurant in Bangkok. Jay Fai, often known as the “Queen of Thai Street Food,” has gained national and international acclaim after being the first and only street food vendor in the world to be given a Michelin star. She does her magic on the wok six days a week to ensure her customers enjoy the best Thai seafood delights. Despite the expensive pricing, I believe it is justified by her Michelin rating and the use of only the finest products.
My favorite seafood dish at Jay Fai is her Crab Yellow Curry (800 THB), which is filled with enormous chunks of crab flesh, creamy curry powder, chilies, and veggies, and it’s delicious! Her hallmark dishes, Drunken Noodles with Seafood (400 THB) and Crab Omelette, are also a must-try (800 THB).
Ruepoh Seafood
Ruepoh Seafood is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has been in operation for almost four decades. Ruepoh launched a branch in Udom Suk in 2017. This best seafood restaurant in Bangkok is housed in a shipping container, is immaculately maintained, and tastefully designed with seafood-themed themes. You have the option of sitting inside the well-cooled container or on top of the shipping container’s roof if you visit after six o’clock in the evening. Ruepoh Fish gets fresh seafood every day from Chonburi, where they also have two other locations. Although the menu is restricted, the quality of the fish, as well as the flavoring, is outstanding.
A Stir-Fried Mix of Seafood with Pepper, Coriander, and Exotic Herbs is one of the menu’s highlights (250 THB). This peppery seafood curry is packed with expertly cooked seafood like squid, scallops, and white fish slices, and is usually hot like all seafood curries. The Fluffy Catfish with Green Mango Salad (150 THB), a sour and spicy mango salad with bits of fried catfish, is another wonderful flavor explosion. Although Ruepoh Seafood is reasonably priced in comparison to other seafood establishments, there is one option that is not inexpensive: grilled river prawns (999 THB). The prawns are grilled, but they don’t have the same intense charcoal flavor as Ayutthaya’s famous river prawns.
In general, the best seafood restaurants in Bangkok, Thailand is quite famous to people and meet the needs of tastes of each person. You can refer to the best places to enjoy seafood that are popular with tourists in the region and around the world above. Hope you enjoy your trip full of fun.
